PRIVATE HEALTH

Even if you do not have any medical conditions, exercise can provide benefits to everyone! Our Exercise Physiologist can work with you to:

  • Aid in weight management

  • Improve and maintain muscle strength and balance

  • Prevent injury

  • Combat chronic health conditions and diseases

  • Improve cardiovascular function

  • Promote sleep

  • Aid in improving mental health

  • Improve memory and brain function

Most private health insurance funds offer rebates for Exercise Physiology services. Please speak with your private health fund to determine your level of cover.

*Yorke Peninsula Exercise Physiology has HICAPS facilities, meaning you can claim on the spot!

MEDICARE INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

If you have a chronic medical condition and/or complex care need, an Exercise Physiologist is the best person to help you. You may be eligible to receive up to 5 Exercise Physiology services via a Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (Team Care Arrangement). You can claim up to 5 bulk billed Exercise Physiology sessions per calendar year through Medicare on an ‘Enhanced Primary Care Plan'.

We advise you to speak to your GP to see if you're eligible.

MEDICARE GROUP SESSIONS

Individuals who have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes may be eligible for an initial consultation and 8 supervised group sessions each calendar year, via the Group Allied Health Services under Medicare for patients with type 2 diabetes

*Yorke Peninsula Exercise Physiology bulk bill for this service if the appropriate referral and paperwork has been received.

NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME (NDIS)

Yorke Peninsula Exercise Physiology believes that all individuals should have the opportunity to achieve their goals. We provide NDIS participants with health education, specialised exercise interventions, and tailored exercise programs to promote independence, well-being, and improved quality of life.

Ben has a great understanding of the NDIS and is confident in communicating with people in your NDIS support team to help you achieve your goals. Ben sees both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants.

If you currently have NDIS funding, you may be eligible to access Exercise Physiology services. Exercise Physiology may be funded under the following categories of your NDIS Capacity Building Supports budget:

  • Improved Daily Living, or

  • Improved Health and Wellbeing.

DEPARTMENT OF VETERENS AFFAIRS (DVA)

We value the opportunity to work with Veterans who have served our country. If you are a Veteran who holds a DVA Gold or White card, and are suffering from a health condition, you may be able to access Exercise Physiology services.

To work with an Exercise Physiologist, we require a suitable referral from a medical officer. If you are interested in accessing our services, please see your GP or specialist to complete a D904 referral form.

RETURN TO WORK SA (RTWSA)

We understand the psychological, financial and personal impacts not being able to work can hold. Yorke Peninsula Exercise Physiology can work with you to optimise function, participation and return to work happier and healthier than ever!

Ben is RTWSA accredited, and is confident in communicating and collaborating with your case manager and other treating professionals involved in your treatment and recovery.

Ben will work with you to:

  • Manage your injury

  • Set goals focusing on optimising function, participation and returning to work, and

  • Measure the effectiveness of treatment, and work to implement new interventions as needed.
